July 19: Two Free Tickets to Paradise Edition

What's happening in and around Massapequa.

It's not going to cost you any money to see Money Tuesday.

Rock star Eddie Money is in Massapequa and will be playing a free concert at Monday night.

The singer, who produced hits such as, "Take me Home Tonight" and "Two Tickets to Paradise," will not be the only attraction in the area.

There will also be a children's concert and some library programs on tap.

Here's what you need to know today: 

  • We're in the Money: Eddie Money is a Levittown resident and a member of the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. He takes the stage at about 8 p.m. at Burns Park.
  • Books Alive: This the title of the free children's concert to be held at Singer Songwriter Lee Knight will invite children to perform on stage with her. It all starts at 10:30 a.m.
  • Art Lecture: Louise Cella Caruso presents a lecture entitled "Picturing America" at the beginning at 2 p.m. It will span from the 18th century to the 20th century.
  • Digital Photos: Bar Harbour will also be presenting a program on working with digital photo technology. It begins at 7 p.m. and pre-registration is required. 
  • Islander Signing: The New York Islanders team store at the will be welcoming defenseman Andrew MacDonald at 6:30 p.m. The blueliner scored four goals and had 27 assists last season.
