PHOTOS: Dune Re-Placement at Tobay Beach

A view of from the lens of a Patch reader.

Crews are working to stabalize dunes at Nassau's Tobay Beach after Hurricane Sandy battered Long Island's south-facing coasts.

According to Oyster Bay Town, contractors are in the process of rebuilding the dunes that had been in place on Tobay’s ocean side, in order to aid in future beach preservation efforts.

This process, along with the rebuilding of the pavilion and decking that had been heavily damaged during Hurricane Sandy, "will bring Tobay Beach back to its former glory in time for the summer season."
