Police Blotter: Mall Theft Suspect Tussles With Cops

A man accused of shoplifting struggled with cops as they tried  to arrest him at the Sunrise Mall, police said. Maurice A. Stone II, 23, was  spotted after he allegedly tried to steal $603.50 worth of merchandise at Tunnel on April 27. Mall security held Stone until police arrived, but when they did, he resisted arrest, police said. Stone allegedly  started flailing his arms and wrestling with officers, knocking them into clothing racks and the wall.

A man was arrested for trying to break into a home on Roosevelt Avenue in Massapequa Park on April 26, cops said. Jason P Losee allegedly tried to cut the screen of a window when somebody spotted him and called police. Losee, 38, was charged with burglary.

On April 26, someone stole 43 shirts valued at $1913.50 from a display located in the front of Hollister at the Sunrise Mall, police said.

On April 26,  two Amityville  women were arrested at Wal-Mart at the Sunrise Mall and charged with Petit Larceny.

On April 26, a North Massapequa woman was arrested at Wal-Mart at the Sunrise Mall and charged with Petit Larceny.

On April 27, a Lindenhurst woman was arrested at Wal-Mart at the Sunrise Mall and charged with Petit Larceny.

On April 30, Carl A Stewart,  39, of Melville, was arrested on Eastbound Sunrise Highway near Cartwright Boulevard, Massapequa Park and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Vehicle 3rd, Uninsured Motor Vehicle and one violation of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

On May 1, Judith A Marion, 58,  of Amityville was arrested at Pathmark, 941 Carmans Road, Massapequa and charged with Petit Larceny and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

On May 1, a Farmingdale woman was arrested at Macy’s, at the Sunrise Mall and charged with Petit Larceny.

On May 1, Mary M Zeller,  46, of  Massapequa, was arrested on Balchen Street, Massapequa Park and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Unlicensed Operator.

On May 1, Adolfo Emerson,  25 ,of Bay Shore, was arrested on Broadway near Commonwealth Avenue, Massapequa and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Unregistered Motor Vehicle and 3 violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

On May 2, a Brentwood  woman was arrested at JC Penny at the Sunrise Mall, Massapequa and charged with Petit Larceny.
