Police Release Pictures of Pair Wanted in Connection With Charity Theft

Collection can swiped from Merrick Road 7-Eleven.

Police have released surveillance photos Tuesday of a man and a woman wanted for questioning in connection with the theft of a charity donation container at a Massapequa 7-Eleven.

The pair got away with $200 in cash that was being collected for Muscular Dystrophy at the located at 5570 Merrick Road, cops said.

A man described as being  5-feet 9-inches tall and wearing blue jeans, a t-shirt, blue baseball cap and a white sweater grabbed the can along with a woman who is 5-feet 4, wearing leggings, a dark shirt and a white sweater.

They poured the cash into a large monogram pocketbook the woman was carrying.

Police are urging anyone with information about the theft to call Crime Stoppers, which is offering a reward up to $5,000.  Their phone number is 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
