YES Community Counseling Center, a non-profit, community based agency serving the residents of southeastern Nassau County, has won a $10,000 grant from Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) as part of MassMutual’s national Community Service Award (CSA) program. YES Community Counseling Center is one of only eleven organizations nationally to win an award. MassMutual made the grant in honor of Frank Baird, a MassMutual agent with Center for Wealth Preservation in Syosset, NY. “MassMutual’s Community Service Awards program aims to encourage and recognize those financial professionals that are active members of their community,” said Nick Fyntrilakis, Assistant Vice President of Community Responsibility, MassMutual. Franks’s volunteer work reflects MassMutual’s steadfast commitment to supporting organizations in the communities where our financial professionals live and work.”
YES Community Counseling Center has been responding to emerging issues for young people, families and adults for the past 35 years. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for people facing emotional, familial and social challenges. “The award will be used to enhance our existing programs and expand our staff where possible,” stated Jamie Bogenshutz, YES Executive Director. Frank has been with Center for Wealth Preservation for approximately five years. He has been committed to YES Community Counseling Center since becoming aware of the agency and has dedicated countless volunteer hours to help the organization grow and flourish through the creation of the haunted house, “Darkness Rising” in 2005.
“I am very pleased that my dedication to YES Community Counseling Center has been recognized by MassMutual,” said Frank. “This grant will provide much needed funding to continue supporting our community through their work with children and families.”
