First Significant Snow in Massapequa

Photos of December storm.

The most significant snow of the pre-winter season fell on the Massapequa area Tuesday.

There was a steady snowfall throughout the morning, and accumulation on grassy areas but most main roads were clear and only a few side streets received a coating.

Still, it's slow going out there and drivers should exercise caution. The National Weather Service was forecasting two to four inches of snow in the area, before tapering off in the afternoon.

It did make for a beautiful scene in some areas and we hope you enjoy these photos of the December snow. If you have photos you want to share, send them to Edward@patch.com
