Guide to Memorial Day 2014 in Massapequa

Communities across the country will gather this weekend to celebrate and remember those who fought and gave their lives in the name of freedom.

Here's what you need to know about the 2014 Memorial Day Parade in Massapequa:

Massapequa
9:30 a.m. Parade kicks off. Route starts at Commonwealth Avenue and Broadway and ends at Brady Park in Massapequa Park.
2 p.m. Ancient Order of Hibernians and US Marine Corps host a Memorial Day Barbecue
3:30 p.m. Annual stick ball game

Massapequa Park
10 a.m. Parade kicks off
Route: Starts at Village Hall, march west on Front Street, north on Park Boulevard, west on Clark Boulevard through preserve to Broadway, south to Klenstinac Park.
Ceremony: Immediately following parade in Klenstinac Park.
