Mangano Opens Mega Hurricane Sandy Recovery Center at Cedar Creek Park

The Recovery Center includes a FEMA Registration Center, New York State Department of Financial Services Insurance Resource Center, Red Cross Food and Drink Distribution Center and a free mobile laundry facility.

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano announced that the County has opened a Mega Hurricane Sandy Recovery Center at Cedar Creek Park in Seaford. 


The New York State Department of Financial Services is available at Cedar Creek Park daily from 8 a.m to 8 p.m. to offer residents advice on how to file an insurance claim for property damage from Hurricane Sandy. Representatives will also be present from several of the nation’s largest insurance companies, including: Allstate, Metlife, New York Life, Travelers, USAA and more.

FEMA Registration Center

A FEMA Registration Center in Cedar Creek Park is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. to assist residents with registering for disaster aid, and housing and rental assistance. 


The Red Cross has opened a meal distribution centers at Cedar Creek Park.  Daily meals are served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.


Washers and dryers are available to residents at Cedar Creek Park. Residents may operate these appliances free of charge. Free detergent is also available at this facility.

i would like to know when power will be restored on wenwood dr. & morris ct. in east meadow. there is a jr. h.s. and the kids are running through the back yards and power lines are down. are you waiting for one of the kids to get hurt. i have called lipa numerous times and there answer is ...we are getting there. mangano where are you.

Arlene, I hope by time you read this your nightmare is over but if it's not send a short email to Mangano's office and tell them your situation including where the outage is. It may be coincidence but when I did it the lights where on within 24 hours. We where a small 4 house outage that we thought they forgot about. Use this address brian@edmangano.com .
