Massapequa Moms Hold Halloween Event

Saturday event designed to makeup for last year's Sandy destruction.

One of the forgotten losses of Superstorm Sandy was Halloween.

The power outages and chaos in the aftermath of the storm made it unsafe to trick-or-treat.

The Massapequa Moms group is  putting together an event this weekend designed to give area kids an extra Halloween celebration to make up for the one that was lost a year ago.

The free family fin day will take place at the PAL parking lot near the Massapequa LIRR Station.

The theme of the event will be "Trunk or Treat" and local businesses will decorate cars with Halloween trinkets and fill their trunks with candy.

THere will also be a DJ, face painting, a magic show and Zumba.

It will run from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m Saturday.
