Massapequa Week in Review

A look back at this week's top stories.

This week saw a strange hit and run arrest, bocce and a controversial chopper.

Here's a look back:

A North Massapequa man was arrested in a fatal Thursday morning hit and run in Old Bethpage, according to police. It was later revealed that suspect Matthew Johnstone, 37, is  a former East Islip gym teacher, who resigned five years ago after one of his students claimed he had an affair with her. 

Massapequa will have a couple of events of note this weekend, including an anti-bullying program at Marjorie Post Park.

The Massapequa Kiwanis Club will also break in new Bocce courts at Burns Park as they hold a tournament in memory of a former member.

A fire damaged a home On Lake Shore Drive in in Massapequa Park Thursday.

And finally, complaints over a helicopter owned by Cablevision was the source of controversy at this week's town board meeting.
