Top stories for the week of June

Massapequa celebrated America's Birthday and said farewell to a long time educator this week. Here's a look back at our top stories:

The week opened with a disturbing incident on Jerusalem Avenue as police say swastikas and anti-Semetic graffiti on a fence.

There was a changing of the guard this week in the Massapequa School District as Superintendent Charles Sulc began his retirement.

"Missing Swimmer" Raymond Roth was in court again Tuesday, this time pleading guilty to violating an order of protection.

We reached the first anniversary of the July 4th of the tragic boat accident that killed three children on Oyster Bay. While some laws have been passed to improve boater safety, several experts told Patch that not enough has been done.

And of course we celebrated America's 237th birthday this weekend.
