May 1: Crafts and Stories at the Library

Craft: The Bar Harbour Library will start May off with a Mothers Day craft for kids 6 to 12.  They will make a flower basket at 7 p.m.

Story: It will be story time at the Central Avenue Library Wednesday. The program is for kids 3 and up at 2 p.m. THere is no registration.

Knitting: There will be a knitting class at Bar Harbour for those who know the basics of knitting. It starts at 7 p.m. and there is a $5 materials fee. Learn how to make a farmers market beach bag.

Girls Lacrosse:  Massapequa hosts Manhasset at 4:30 p.m.

Candidates Night Canceled: THe annual "Meet the Candidates Night" held in advance of the May 21 Massapequa School Board election, which had been scheduled for Wednesday has been canceled.  No candidate filed nominating petitions on time, but there will be a write-in election.
