No matter when you go, one problem society faces is always a constant- the issue of kids and drugs, a deadly combination.
Not content to sit by and watch the problem get worse, Drug-Free Massapequa Co-Founder and President Janice Talento decided to do something about it. Starting a community awareness organization, Talento is opening eyes to Massapequa's drug problem, one resident at a time while encouraging communication between parents and their children.
Drug-Free Massapequa holds monthly meetings at . There are always guest speakers- recovering addicts, people who have lost loved ones to addiction, and law enforcement personel are just among the many people who have relayed their tales of tragedy and triumph to the teens and adults in the audience.
