Community Corner

Snowbound At Marjorie R. Post Park

Patch takes a look at the popular park at an unpopular time of year

, located at Unqua and Merrick Roads, is a 42.5 acre community park open to all residents of the Town of Oyster Bay.

The park has an extensive array of features available for outdoorsy types, including picnic areas with barbecue grills, tennis, handball, and basketball court, lake, swimming pool, ice skating and roller hockey rinks, bocce ball court, and a pre-school.

Of course, most of these activities, aside from the ice skating rink, are associated with spring and summer. The park, while still open to residents in the off-seasons, is currently looking a little lonely while covered in a thick blanket of snow and ice.

However, taking the familiar and dumping a layer of snow over it makes for some beautiful photo opportinties, as Patch wandered around the grounds of Marjorie R. Post park, camera at the ready to capture this week's photo gallery.
