Weather Alert: Surf Advisory Issued for Massapequa
Hurricane Leslie churns in the Atlantic, creating a high risk for a rip current along the south shore.
A high rip current risk is in effect until this evening for the Massapequa area, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
The NWS said that the high risk of rip currents will likely continue throughout the upcoming weekend "as swells from Tropical Storm Leslie affect the coast."
