- Massapequa Public schools are closed.
- The Massapequa Public Library is closed.
- All federal, state and local government offices are closed, including the Department of Motor Vehicles and the county courts.
- There is no U.S. Postal Service delivery.
- Town of Oyster Bay offices are closed, but many town parks and public facilities, including the ice rink in Bethpage, are open.
- Sanitation pickup is normal.
- Village Hall in Massapequa Park is closed.
- Some banks are closed, but have the option to stay open.
- The Long Island Rail Road generally operates on a normal schedule on Columbus Day.
