Clean But Edgy
The so called "Last of the Clean Comedians" performs at Bar Harbor Library.
Billed as the "Last of the Clean Comedians," Glen Anthony had nearly 50 seniors laughing and clapping at the Bar Harbour branch of the Massapequa Public Library last week.
While Anthony's routine has no profanity, it is not exactly family-friendly. He teased audience members about dating and marriage, and made many quips about making love.
The material ranged from cute to corny, but the rapport Anthony develops with his audience ensured that everyone had a good time. "When did you become part of my act?" Anthony good-naturedly asked an enthusiastic gentleman in the third row. "It's OK; we're all friends here," said Anthony.

The comic did quite a bit of ethnic humor. While in character doing a Jackie Mason impersonation, he quipped that Jewish people know who the legendary comedian is, "But Italians think I'm a brick layer."
The Brooklyn native then went into a series of jokes involving various nationalities that followed common stereotypes.

But Anthony said he "makes sure everyone gets it." So as he incorporated Koreans, the French and Germans into the rapid fire series of jokes. He made a point of saying "God bless America" after every punch line.
Most people who attended the midday show said they enjoyed the Smithtown based comedian's series of one-liners and impersonations, although several wished the show had been a bit longer.
