LOVE OF LEARNING MONTESSORI SCHOOL TO HOST ANNUAL ART AUCTION

CENTERPORT, NY- Love of Learning, a not-for-profit Montessori school with locations in Centerport and Dix Hills, will once again host its Gala Spring Art Auction.  The event benefits the school’s child enrichment fund.

            During the auction, attendees can bid on finished, framed artwork presented from artists such as Chagall, Degas and Matisse.  There will be originals, prints, signed and numbered pieces, sculpture and blown glass.  Marlin Art Gallery of Deer Park, NY will be providing the art and auctioneer.  In addition to the auction, there will be raffles for baskets donated by local merchants.  Throughout the evening, wine, hors d’oeuvres, coffee and dessert will be available. This year’s event will be held at:

As in the past, the event promises to be a great night out with the opportunity to pick up some exquisite works of art at very reasonable prices.  In addition, for as little as a $1.00, attendees can win raffle baskets filled with a range of high end items including gift certificates for dining out, clothing and kids’ activities. No one has been jailed for the corporate malfeasance that resulted in the financial crash of '08, in spite of the rules that were ignored or broken. Too big to fail is the order of the day. Meanwhile, petty frauds committed by poor and middle class are prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Two Americas. The rule of law, unevenly applied, whether by race, or class, or economic station will result in the unraveling of society. We may well be seeing the beginnings of that now, as we've entered a new gilded age, where new robber barons are allowed to run roughshod over the lower classes. The very ideals of America are at stake, and we are letting them slide away.
