Local Writers Share Personal Histories

Mary Haughey leads her fellow senior citizens in "Writing Our Stories" program at Bar Harbour Library.

It's a chance for senior citizens to tell their personal histories in their own words. In the process, we learn a bit about our own history and the world around us. 

The "Writing Our Stories Group," comprised mostly of area senior citizens, held a literary tea, recently at the Massapequa Public Library's Bar Harbour branch. The group which meets for weekly sessions at the library, read pieces they've been working on under the direction of their leader Mary Haughey.
