LIRR Cancels Evening Trains on Babylon Branch

Train derailment repairs bring three schedule changes.

The Long Island Rail Road has announced the cancellation of three trains on the Babylon Branch for Wednesday Evening.

The schedule changes come as a result of track repair that came about as a result of a derailment in Queens  on Monday.

The Babylon Branch includes the Massapequa and Massapequa Park LIRR stations, although one of the cancelled train was scheduled to terminate in Wantagh and another in Seaford.

Here's a list of the cancelled trains: 

  • The 4:52p.m. train from Penn Station due in Babylon at 5:55 p.m. Customers will be accommodated by the 5:03 p.m.  train from Penn Station due in Wantagh at 5:53 p.m. with a stop at Rockville Centre and all local stops to Babylon.
  • The 5:19 p.m. train from Penn Station due in Wantagh at 6:06 p.m. Customers will be accommodated by the 5:24 p.m. train from Penn Station due in Freeport at 6:10p.m. with stops at Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Jamaica, Rockville Centre, and all local stops to Wantagh.
  • The 5:40 p.m. train from Penn Station due in Seaford at 6:30 p.m. Customers will be accommodated by the 5:47 p.m. train from Penn Station due Freeport at 6:31 p.m. with a stop at Rockville Centre, and all local stops to Seaford.
