Readers’ Choice: Best Florist in Massapequa

From a dozen roses to wedding arrangements: We want your pick for who has the best flowers.

Flowers make a potent statement.

Maybe it’s for a new special someone, an old flame or you just want to brighten the mood. Nothing has an emotional impact like a fresh bouquet.

There’s a natural bloom for every taste and occasion: A simple bunch of wildflowers, a dozen long-stem roses or an exotic orchid to sit on your windowsill. They accent weddings and symbolize funerals.

And you can pick them up at roadside stops, grocery stores or florists. Time to weigh in.

Massapequa Patch is looking to unearth the best place for flowers in town.

Readers’ Choice is a new weekly feature where we ask you – our readers – to tell us your top picks. Fresh is good. But so too is service.

Each Monday we’ll list our nominees – this week it’s florist – and ask for your recommendation in comments.

Did we leave your go-to spot off the list? Go ahead and add it in comments too.

On Wednesday we'll narrow our choices down. Then vote. Readers' Choice winners are all up to you, so it's important not only to vote below, but also be sure to share this contest with your friends on Facebook and Twitter!

Voting closes Friday at 9 a.m. Friday we’ll announce our winner.

I've been to many of the florists listed. My favorite is Bayview Florist. The quality of flowers cannot be beaten and no matter what I've ever purchased there seems to last a very long time. The shop is gorgeous too, just what a florist should be inside.

Bayview, of course! They've always been the most creative and original and unique florists, as well as beautiful! Ever since their Merrick Rd location. The best!

They might know me as DeVitto from "back in the day" though!

I remember Bayview Florist when it was on Merrick Road. They have the most interesting assortment of flowers and many other items. Although pricey, they are great. However, I would be remiss not to give a shout out for Pequa Park Florist. I needed to order several funeral pieces many years ago and they were the only florist open on Columbus day. The work they did was outstanding! When I neede funeral pieces again went to them and was not disappointed.

Pequa Park florists get my vote and my thanks. They are wonderful, caring, professional, with creative work. Their plants and arrangements are healthy and beautiful every time. They aren't out to get your money, they want to give people pleasure.

Bayview Florist! Beautiful flower arrangements and a shop that can keep you there for hours just looking at everything. Very different from other florists to say the least.

Bayview Florist has stood out for many years. I too have been to most of the florists listed, and while they are all very reputable, Bayview has always provided the freshest flowers, most original floral designs, and always has a large selection of other gift options. Their funeral arrangements stand out from the norm. Their prom and recital corsages are always gorgeous. Their customer service is excellent. I miss their original location, but they did need a larger space. Owner Mark Marazzo is also very involved in the Massapequa community, and volunteers his time and service to many of our local organizations.

Bayview Florist! You don't last in the business for 50 years without talent, and when it comes to Flowers.......the Marrazzo's are the "Micelangelo's of Arrangements".....plus you couldn't meet a nicer family.

<3 Bayview Florist & Montage "Where Magic Happens" See for yourself! Go to Bayview and let the amazing staff there prepare your flowers from an elegant rose...to a wild flower bouquet. Everything is personally designed, wrapped & embellished, quick & easy and different than you've ever experienced before. My personal favorite florist pick not only in Massapequa, but all of Long Island ;)
