Readers’ Choice: Best Pancakes in Massapequa

Where do you go to order a stack of smile-inducing pancakes?

They come topped with fruit, stuffed, buttered up or slathered in syrup. They can make a grown man’s eyes dilate to silver-dollar proportions at the sight of a hot stack.

We’re talking pancakes, of course. Pancakes are that breakfast staple that go great any time of day; Solo or loaded, with eggs or a side of sausage.

Time to weigh in. Massapequa Patch is looking to unearth the best pancakes in town. Readers’ Choice is a new weekly feature where we ask you – our readers – to tell us your top picks.

Each Monday we’ll list our nominees – this week it’s pancakes – and ask for your recommendation in the comment section. Did we leave your go-to spot off the list? Go ahead and add it in comments.

Wednesday we’ll narrow the field, taking your recommendations to put to a vote in the ultimate food fight poll.

Friday we’ll announce our winner.

Our nominees:

Who makes the Best Pancakes In Massapequa? Well, my vote is kind of bias since I own the place but I still have to say Bayview Florist & Montage. Lorraine came in one day with skillet in hand and got busy. She served up the best pancakes this side of the Long Island Expressway. She's not only the best floral designer, she's an amazing cook as well.
We're still working on serving them over the counter to our clients. I'll keep you posted as we progress.

OK I'm hungry any nominees?

Mark, you'll understand if we can't use this nominee in this poll, but keep us updated and maybe we can include you the next time we do this, once you're up and running. Can't wait to try them.

How can I not cast a vote for IHOP? Pancakes are their main business. When my children were young, it was always a special treat to go there and order pancakes or waffles. The other locations are great too.....you really can't go wrong at the Massapequa Diner, Friendly's, or Krisch's, etc., but I would vote for their burgers and sandwiches over their pancakes!

OK That's a vote for IHOP! Any other Nominees?

Krisch's is the best. ALL their food happens to be the best!!! If you don't know of it, Google it and go there, you will agree!!!

when you say elite do you mean the hard working people who have money? it's a matter of labels. youRead More call them elite..they call themselves hard workers. yes, some inherit money. but most of us work for it.
Michael Taustine June 16, 2013 at 09:01 pm
No, it has nothing to do with how hard you work. It's just that the elite one percenters are treatedRead More differently when they run afoul of the laws in this country. No one has been jailed for the corporate malfeasance that resulted in the financial crash of '08, in spite of the rules that were ignored or broken. Too big to fail is the order of the day. Meanwhile, petty frauds committed by poor and middle class are prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Two Americas. The rule of law, unevenly applied, whether by race, or class, or economic station will result in the unraveling of society. We may well be seeing the beginnings of that now, as we've entered a new gilded age, where new robber barons are allowed to run roughshod over the lower classes. The very ideals of America are at stake, and we are letting them slide away.

Will the new Massapequa station platform be covered end-to-end as it is now? If it will only beRead More partially covered, like Seaford station, there are going to be a lot of cold, wet, unhappy commuters.
Patrick O'Hara June 12, 2013 at 04:14 pm
Mr. Coyote, The design plans only call for a canopy over certain parts of the station platform, likeRead More almost all of the other stations along the branch. The canopies will be primarily over the staircases, elevator, waiting room, and one other small section on the middle section of the platform between the elevator and east escalator.
