Sports fans all around the world were disappointed Friday by the announcement that top 3-year-old I'll Have Another had been scratched from the Belmont Stakes.
It means that there will once again be no triple crown winner this year as there hasn't been since 1978.
I'll Have Another had an injured tendon and his trainer didn't want to take a chance, saying he likely would never run again.
Fans missed out on a chance to see history, but you can also make the case that many have bought tickets to a race that they no longer want to see.
