Weigh in on Recession Proof Businesses

Are there any establishments in Massapequa that you think will always survive a bad economy.

A sucessful business has to be able to change with the times.  The most difficult adjustments come when the economy takes a turn for the worse.

When customers tighten their belt, everyone has difficulty.  But some businesses it seems, are recession-proof. by the very nature of what they do, they will always have a customer base that will need their goods or services.

We thought that one such business might be the on Broadway. After all, there's always going to be police officers and they're always going to need uniforms and equipment.

But the owners recently told us that they've had difficulty maintaining business these days because officers aren't buying new uniforms as quickly as they once did.

So we want to know if you think there is such a thing as a recession proof business in Massapequa.

Take our poll below and tellus more in comments.

How about auto body shops. If someone bangs up their car, they have to get it fixed. Usually insurance is involved too. Ah, there's another recession proof area: insurance and auto insurance brokers.

Maybe not auto body by repair shops. People would rather spend $500 to fix a car then $350 a month to get a new one but may life with dents. Also Liqure stores! People drink more in bad times.
