Weigh in on: Starbucks Closing

Massapequa lost the Starbucks in the Southgate Shopping Center, but there's another one just a bit further down Merrick Road. Is that close enough?

There have been a number of business closings in recently, but the closing of the Starbucks in the Southgate shopping center certainly raised some eyebrows.

This branch of the popular coffee chain appeared to be in a busy area that would seem to be an ideal location. But there is also a further on down Merrick Road.

Given the close proximity of the two locations, we want to know if the loss of one of them is still an inconvenience.

The Starbucks near Hicksville Road has poor parking. This past Sunday, it was crazy down there.

The rents at Southgate have chased out quite a few stores over the last 5 years (Stop & Shop, Butera's, Margaret's just to name a few)...the Starbucks at Hicksville Rd. has terrible service and the parking is not only inconvenient but quite dangerous. But to be honest, I could not care less if Starbucks goes bust.
