A look at events and happenings around the Massapequas today.

Well, Thursday is here...only one more day to go until the holiday weekend.

With school out this week and  Passover and Easter upon us, there's a great many things going on in Massapequa this week. We've tried to include enough variety in today's edition of "Five Things" to cater to everyone. 

Each day, we spotlight events and happenings in and around the area that we think  you ought to know about. We want your help too. If there's an event or announcement you'd like us to highlight, please contact us.

Here's what you need to know  today:

  • Spring Recess Movie Special at Massapequa Lanes: Looking for a fun-filled day with the kids while they're off from school this week? At a $10 fee covers bowling, shoes, pizza, drink, and a screening of the hit film "Gulliver's Travels." The show begins at 10 a.m.
  • Varsity Baseball: Hicksville H.S. @ Massapequa H.S.:  hosts the always-tough Hicksville on Thrusday. The game starts bright and early at 10:30 a.m.
  • Passover: The holiday continues Thursday with an evening service at at 7:15 p.m.
  • Holy Thursday Morning Prayer Service at Our Lady of Lourdes: The road to Easter Sunday continues with an early morning prayer service at at 9 a.m, followed by the Mass of the Lord Supper at 8 p.m.
  • Magic Workshop - Children's Program at Massapequa Public Library: Jim McCenahan shows kids ages 8-12 the ins-and-outs of the mystery of magic starting at 11 a.m. at the .
