The court sport plays an important role in this edition of "Five Things You Need to Know Today." 

We think you'll love this edition and not in a zero points sort of way.  In addition to the start of yet another spring sport, we also have some important meetings and programs on the agenda. We'll also be following the condition of Nassau County Legislaor Peter Schimitt, who was Monday.

  • Tennis Season: The Massapequa Boy's Varsity Tennis team swings into action Tuesday. They play their first match of the season at home against Locust Valley. First serve is at 4:15 p.m.
  • Computer Kindergarten: Any computer novices who are out there don't have to live in a low tech world anymore. The is hosting a computer basics class for beginners. The first of four sessions takes place at 2 p.m. Pre registration is required.
  • Parent Orientation: Last week we told you about parent orientation at Massapequa High School. On Tuesday, it's turn. Parents of incoming 7th graders have their orientation meeting beginning at 7:30 p.m.
  • Drug Free Massapequa: The group committed to stopping narcotics use throughout the Massapequas holds their Monthly meeting on Tuesday Night. It gets underway at 7:30 p.m. at
  • Softball: The Massapequa Girls Varsity Softball team will be in action on Tuesday Hosting Bellmore JFK High School. First pitch is at 4:15 p.m.
