Dec.16: Chamber of Commerce and Zoning Board Meetings

What's happening in and around Massapequa.

Hello and welcome to Thursday. This is a busy time of year and the days and weeks seem to fly by in the midst of the holiday season. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with what's going on.  That's why we started "Five Things You Need to Know Today." Each day, we spotlight events and happenings in and around the area that we think you ought to know about. You can play a part too. If there's an event or announcement you'd like us to know about, please contact us. 

Here's what you need to know today:

  • Chamber of Commerce meeting: The holds their monthly meeting and luncheon at
  • Town of Oyster Bay Zoning Board Meeting: The board meets to consider variances and exemptions to town zoning ordinances. Several local properties are on the agenda, including several in Massapequa. They meet at Town Hall, 54 Audrey Avenue in Oyster Bay at 7 p.m.
  • Barber Shop Quartet: A holiday performance by AfterGlo Worms at 7 p.m. in the food court of the Westfield Sunrise Mall.
  • "City Island:" Not the neighborhood in the Bronx with all the seafood joints, this  is the title of the film being screened at the film being screened at the
  • Gymnastics: The Massapequa Girls Varsity Gymnastics team visits Wantagh High School at 7 p.m.
