Gale Warning For Massapequa

Winter Weather advisory extends into Thursday morning commute, but Massapequans on the water should feel storm's effects Wednesday.

A Gale Warning is in effect along Long Island’s South Shore, including South Oyster Bay in Massapequa, beginning Wednesday with 2-4 foot seas and gusts up to 40 knots, the National Weather Service announced.

The forecast calls for a chance of rain and snow before noon, rain between 12-3 p.m., and then up to a half inch of snow in the afternoon.

A Winter Weather advisory has been issued for much of the region. Massapequa will likely see snow overnight into the Thursday morning commute with gusts up to 50 mph. 

Up to 4-7 inches of snow is possible, according to the NWS.
