Jan. 18: Town Board Meeting and Cyber Seniors

What's happening in and around Massapequa.

It's Tuesday but it feels like Monday for a lot of us. Many of had yesterday off, making today the start of the work or school week for a good number of Massapequans. So we're going to start your week of right with "Five Things You Need to Know Today."

  • Town Board Meeting: The Town of Oyster Bay has a packed agenda on Tuesday. Among the things they'll be considering will be amendments to the town code related to parking, stopping crossing and other traffic regulations and a hearing on 2011 fire protection agreements. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Town Hal, 54 Audrey Avenue in Oyster Bay.
  • Senior Web Sites: The  will be hosting a program about fun websites for seniors. The reference librarian will teach how access sites that feature games and laughs. It begins at 11 a.m.
  • Author! Author! Massapequa based writer Linda Frank will be holding a discussion about her book, "The Madonna Ghost"  at the Westbury Borders Book Store located at 1260 Old Country Road. The event will begin at 7 p.m.
  • Ames Concert: Earlier this month students at Berner Middle School their talents. On Tuesday night the Campus of Massapequa High School will be hosting a concert at 8 p.m.
  • Swimming: The Chiefs Boys Varsity swimming team takes on Cold Spring Harbor High School at 4: 30 p.m. at Farmingdale State College, 2350 Broadhollow Road.
