We made it to the end of the week and at the end of the day you can put your feet up and pour a cold one and put your feet up. Particularly if you're a dad.
It's Father's Day weekend and there's plenty of entertainment to keep dad home in Massapequa. We'll also tell you about other fun activities for dad or anyone else looking for fun.
Each day, we spotlight events and happenings in and around the area that we think you ought to know about. We want your help too. If there's an event or announcement you'd like us to know about, please contact us.
Here's what you need to know today:
- Line Dancing: If you feel like celebrating Father's Day by showing off your inner country music star, then try line dancing at the Massapequa Public Library from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
- Vintage Bliss: They're a little bit Jazz, a little bit Sinatra and a little bit classic rock. Vintage Bliss will be playing Restaurant on Sunrise Highway at 9 p.m.
- Blue Parrot: Randy Jackson will bring his popular acoustic show to the Friday Night.It gets underway at 9 p.m.
- Senior Help Desk: If you're a senior with questions about Medicare, Medicare part D, Social Security, nursing homes or any other program you may be eligible to join, the can assist you. They man a senior help desk every Friday from 10 a.m. to noon.
- Strawberry Festival: We'll give you one Saturday event. The will hold their annual Strawberry Festival on the grounds of Old Grace Church from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Get your dad a shortcake.
