Massapequa Crime Report: Stolen Generator and Light Tower

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Grand Larceny

On Nov. 18, a generator was reported missing from a home on Forest Avenue in Massapequa, police, said. The homeowner discovered it was gone, while cleaning up flood damage in his backyard.

On Nov. 16, portable light towers were stolen from the area of Ocean Avenue and Marnier Street, police said. The thefts occurred between 4 p.m. the day before and 12:30 p.m.

On Oct. 31, jewlry was reported missing from a residence on Brewster Road, police said.

Burglary

On Nov. 15, a home was broken into on Brockmeyer Drive, police said. The thief took cash and jewelry.

On Nov. 18, a home on Gloucester Road was Broken into, police said. The breakin occurred through a second story window, but nothing was taken.

DWI

On Nov. 15, Bernardo Castillo, 51, of Massapequa, was arrested on Merrick Road, Massapequa and charged with driving while intoxicated and one violation of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Petty Larceny

On Nov. 16, a Massapequa teen was arrested for shoplifting at Walmart at the Sunrise Mall, police said.

On Nov. 16, a Valley Stream woman was arrested for shoplifting at Macy's at the Sunrise Mall, police said.
