Getaway Day: Wednesday marks the start of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The afternoon rush hour is expected to start a few hours early and roads could be crowded. The LIRR will also add several trains on the Babylon branch which serves, Massapequa and Massapequa Park. There will be a train leaving Penn Station at 2:32 p.m. running express to Lynbrook then making all local stops to Babylon.  A 3 p.m. train stopping at Jamaica and Rockville Centre, then making all stops to Babylon. And there will be a 3:31 express to Rockville Centre, which will then make all stops to Babylon.

Hurricane Help: A representative from the  Governor's office will be at Village Hall in Massapequa Park Wednesday and Friday of this week and Thursday and Friday of the following week, to answer questions about the state's fund for homeowners whose homes were damaged or destroyed by Sandy. Library: The Massapequa Public Library will close early Wednesday, closing their doors at 5 p.m.

Chair Yoga: The Bar Harbour Library will be open at 9a.m. thoough and their popular chair yoga class will meet in the auditorium.

Ice Hockey: Massapequa Hosts Long Beach at Bethpage Rink. The puck drops at 6:15 p.m.
