Thanksgiving: Thursday is Thanksgiving Day, it's a Federal, State and local holiday. Most government buildings will be closed and schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

Town: Town Hall in Oyster Bay and Village Hall in Massapequa Park will be closed. The town Ice center in Bethpage will be closed Thursday and Friday, but there will be extended sessions at the Ice Center on Friday.

Sanitation: There will be no Sanitation and S.O.R.T.  collections on Thursday. Those who normally receive sanitation collection on Thursday will have it picked up on Friday.

Race Canceled: The annual Turkey Trot which was set to run at John J Burns Park on Thursday morning, was canceled out of respect those in who live in storm damaged neighborhoods along the course. Race organizers promise to resume the tradition next year.

Free Dinner: Manor East caterer will sponsor their fifth annual free Thanksgiving dinner for those in need.  The event gets underway at noon.
