Oct. 23: Senior IDs

Check out some events going on in the Massapequa area Tuesday.

Start your Tuesday with this daily guide, where you will find five pieces of information you should know today, like events happening in town or topics being covered on the site. Have an event or topic that should appear in this column? Add it to the calendar or send us a news tip.

IDs: State Sen. Charles Fuschillo, R-Merrick, and County Executive Ed Mangano sponsor a program at the Bar Harbour Library in which seniors over age 65 will receive a free ID card. The photo ID will include personal contact information and emergency contact information which may be useful if a senior cannot communicate with emergency responders. It runs from noon to 3 p.m.

Mah Jongg: At the same noon start time in Bar Harbour, you can play Mah Johng. The library will provide the tables.

Family Fun Night: At the Central Avenue Library there will be a class for toddlers 18 months old to 5 years. Attendees must live in the Massapequa School District area and there's a waiting list.

Field Hockey: Massapequa travels to Friends Academy at 4:30 p.m.

Girls Volleyball: Massapequa travels to Farmingdale at 5:30 p.m.
