Police Blotter: Assault at St. Rose of Lima

July 17 to July 24.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Assault Cases

On July 20, a juvenile was arrested for an assault outside of St. Rose of Lima School on Merrick Road, police said. The victim, who knew his attacker, was knocked to the ground at 9:25 p.m. The juvenile fled in a blue Mazda, but was picked up by cops a short time later.

On July 20, a Massapequa woman was arrested for misdemeanor assault after she used pepper spray on somebody, police said. Katina Slade, 46, was also charged with possession of a noxious material.

On July 20, a man was assaulted on Unqua Road at 6:45 p.m. The victim was hit in the back of the head, following a dispute over a bag.

DWI Arrests

On July 23, Rigoberto Urquilla, 45, of Lindenhurst, was arrested on Sunrise Highway near Block Boulevard, Massapequa Park and charged with DWI and one violation of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

On July 24, Liam W Farnell, 26, Massapequa, was arrested on Sunrise Highway near Jackson Avenue, Seaford and charged with DWI and three violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Petty Larceny Arrests

On July 19, a Massapequa man was arrested at ACE Hardware, 5135 Merrick Road, Massapequa and charged with petty larceny.

On July 20,  a Massapequa man was arrested at Wal-Mart at the Sunrise Mall, and charged with petty larceny.

On July 23, a Melville man and woman were arrested at JC Penney at the Sunrise Mall and charged with petty larceny.

On July 23, a South Hempstead woman was arrested at Wal-Mart, at the Sunrise Mall and charged with petty larceny.
