Police Blotter: Car Break-ins in the Area

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Grand Larceny

On Dec. 21, a car was broken into on East Lake Avenue in Massapequa Park during the overnight hours, police said. The victim lost  a wallet, credit cards and personal papers.

On Dec. 21, A Honda was broken into on East Lake Avenue in Massapequa Park, cops said. The thief took cash, credit and debit cards, a checkbook, wallet and a pocketbook. The incident took place at around 3 a.m., according to police.

On Dec. 22, Somebody broke into a car in the parking lot and took $1,500 worth of Merchandise, police said. A woman returned to her car after shopping and discovered the passenger window of her 2010 gray Honda had been broken. The incident occurred at 7:30 p.m., according to cops.

On Dec.23, Patrick Keane, 20 of Massapequa Park was arrested and charged with grand larceny 4th.

On Dec. 19, a woman who lives on Dory Lane in Massapequa discovered her laptop was stolen.

Illegal Peddling

On Dec. 22,a Lindenhurst man was arrested in the Sunrise Mall parking lot charged with illegal peddling, police said. Victor Aroas, 35, was allegedly peddling without a license and violated a law that prohibits peddlers from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Petty Larceny

On Dec. 20, a Hempstead woman was arrested at , 5300 Sunrise Highway, Massapequa and charged with petty larceny.

On Dec. 22, a Massapequa Park man was was arrested at at the Sunrise Mall  and charged with petty larceny.

On  Dec. 23,a Brentwood was arrested at 600 Sunrise Mall, Massapequa and charged with petty larceny.

On Dec. 24,  a Copiague woman was arrested at at the Sunrise Mall,  and charged with petty larceny.

Traffic Arrest

On Dec. 26, Adam Calderon, 56, of  Massapequa was arrested on Sunrise Highway, and charged with aggravated unlicensed 2nd, operating a motor vehicle with registration suspended and six violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
