Police Blotter: Local Auto Thefts

Feb. 14 to Feb. 21.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Auto Theft

On Feb. 17 a car parked on Joyce Avenue in Massapequa was reported stolen. The 1994 gold Honda Civic was taken during the early hours of the morning.

On Feb. 17 a car was stolen from the Sears Parking lot at the The 1998 Ford Escort went missing between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

DWI

On Feb. 17, Stephan Beckwith, 25 of Amityville was arrested on Washington Avenue near Merrick Road, Massapequa and charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an incident without a report.

On 02/18, Kerri A Galasso, age 26 of Lee Avenue, Babylon was arrested on Sunrise Highway near Manhattan Avenue, Massapequa Park and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and 1 violation of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Obstruction of Governmental Administration

On Feb.18, Jose F Alvarenga, 33, of Central Islip was arrested on Sunrise Highway near Park Boulevard, Massapequa Park and charged with obstruction of government administration 2nd and resisting arrest.

Petty Larceny

On Feb. 14, a Massapequa Park woman was arrested at at the  Sunrise Mall and charged with petty larceny.

On Feb. 14, a  two Massapequa women were arrested at at the Sunrise Mall, and were charged with petty larceny and endangering the welfare of a child.
