Remembering D-Day 69 Years Later

Thursday marks the anniversary of one of the 20th century's most important days.

D-Day,the Allied invasion of Normandy, helped bring about victory in Europe during World War II, but at a heavy cost.

Casualty estates range from 2,500 to 4,400 Allied troops killed out of the approximately 150,000 fighters who landed on Normandy Beach that day.

Here in Massapequa, we pass reminders of their sacrifices every day.

There are monuments to World War II veterans and those who fought for America in Brady Park, Klestinec Park, and in the Memorial Garden.

We want to know what D-Day means to you. Tell us I'm the comment section below.
