BOE: The Massapequa Board of Education meets on Thursday for the second time in September. They will hear a presentation on Board of Education procedures and approve community members to serve on various committees. They'll convene at 8 p.m. in the district board room.

Shed the Meds: Get rid of old prescription drugs safely. Police will be on hand to assist residents at St. Rose of Lima Church at 5 p.m. It's sponsored by State Sen. Charles, Fuschilo, R-Merrick.

SEPTA: Massapequa SEPTA will have a general meeting and open house at McKenna Elementary School at 5 p.m.

ZBA: The Town of Oyster Bay Zoning Board of Appeals meets Thursday at 7 p.m. The meeting will be at Town Hall, 54 Audrey Avenue in Oyster Bay.

Field Hockey: The Chiefs host Garden City at 4:30 p.m.
