An elderly man was killed in an accident on Sunrise Highway Thursday afternoon, Nassau County Police said.
Joseph Intrabartola, 85, of Baldwin, rear-ended a truck on the right lane of the highway at 1:40 p.m.
He was pronounced dead at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bethpage about 40 minutes later.
The accident occurred in the right lane of the westbound side of the highway at Hicksville Road.
The truck driver was not injured, and police said there was no criminality. The highway was closed for several hours.
