Get Away Day: Friday is the last work day before the Christmas holiday. With many people leaving work early, the Long Island Rail Road will be adding extra trains on Friday afternoon. There will be three extra trains on the Babylon Branch, which serves both the and stations.The 1:28 p.m. train runs express to Rockville Centre, then makes all stops to Babylon. The 1:53 p.m. train stops at Jamaica and Rockville Centre, then makes all stops to Babylon. The 2:17 p.m. train runs express to Rockville Centre, then makes all stops to Babylon.
Sanitation/S.O.R.T. There will be regular sanitation and S.O.R.T. recycling collection. But there will not be sanitation or recycling collection on Monday. Those collections will take place on Tuesday.
Hanukkah Services: There will be two Hanukkah Shabbat services. Friday. One will be at at 7:30 p.m. There will also be a service at in Wantagh. Those in attendance should bring a Menorah and five candles.
Caroling: There will be live seasonal music by the Celestial Singers at the Friday night. The show begins at 8:30 p.m.
Line Dancing: It's not a holiday tradition, but it is a tradition. Friday morning Line Dancing begins at the at 10: 30 a.m.
