Today's Five: What You Need to Know

1. Getaway Day: Wednesday is the last working day for most people as we head into the Thanksgiving holiday. Stay with Patch for what you need to know about the holiday this weekend including what's open. We'll also tell you about a very special dinner.

2) Turkey Trot: One way to start your holiday right will be to take part in the Turkey Trot at Burns Park on Thanksgiving morning.  It opens up at 7:30 a.m. with a family fun run at 8:15 a.m. and the 5K run at 9 a.m. It will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

3) Sanitation/S.O.R.T.: There will be no sanitation or recycling pickup on Thanksgiving Day. Residents who normally receive sanitation or recycling collection on Thursday will receive pickup on Friday, November 25, and Friday customers will receive collection on Saturday, November 26.

4) Blue Parrot: The ever popular Randy Jackson will bring his acoustic show to the Blue Parrot Wednesday Night. Showtime is 8 p.m.

5) Karaoke: Wednesday Night is Karoke night at the corner Galley. Get your vocal chords ready at 9:30 p.m.
