Ash Wednesday: Ash Wednesday is the first day of the Christian holy season of lent. Ashes will be distributed at Our Lady of Lourdes church after masses at 6:45 a.m., 8:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. They will also be distributed after prayer services at noon, 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. At St. Rose of Lima Church, thewy will be distributed at 8 a.m., 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. and following prayer services at noon, 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Movie: The Central Avenue Library will be hosting family movie day featuring the film "Dolphin Tale" starring Harry Connick, Jr. and Ashley Judd. It will be shown at 10: 30 a.m.

Art Workshop: The Bar Harbour Library will hold an Art Workshop at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. pre-registration and prior experience is required.

Karaoke: Wednesday is Karaoke Night at the Corner Galley.  It all gets underway at 9:30 p.m.

Hoops: The Massapequa Girls basketball team will host Freeport in the Class AA playoffs beginning at 6 p.m.
