Two Women Arrested for String of Burglaries

Massapequa pair accused in nine break-ins.

Two Massapequa area women have been arrested for committing nine burglaries in Nassau County since October, police said.

Gina Pfenning, 20, of East Massapequa and Britney Waters, 25 were busted Thursday after finger prints left at two of the burglaries matched Pfenning, according to police.

The pair are allegedly responsible for break-ins in Massapequa, Hicksville, Bethpage and Westbury Dating back to an Oct. 3 burglary on Corporare Drive in Westbury.

Police said they next struck homes on Massachusetts Avenue on Nov. 25 and Dec. 16.; a home on Clark Avenue in Massapequa on Dec. 16; two homes on Division Avenue in Hicksville on Dec. 19; a home on Polo Road in Massapequa on Dec. 21, and two on Simone Court in Bethpage on Dec. 22.

The burglars stole cash, credit cards and jewelry in the burglaries, which police believe are not related to the recent string of deception burglaries in the area. Nobody was hurt in any of the incidents.

Police said they used a tracking system to determine that numerous items that were stolen had been pawned by  the two women.

Pfenning faces seven counts of burglary, grand larceny, forgery, possession of stolen property and identity theft. Waters was charged with seven counts of burglary, grand larceny and possession of stolen property.
