Week in Review

Review of July 5-11.

It was certainly a tough week to be outdoors even if you wanted to be. Massapequa was scorched by triple digit temperatures, forcing many people to seek air conditioning, while officials scrambled to keep pools and beaches open. Outdoor sports were put on hold for a day as Burns Park was shut down because of a nationwide recall of stadium light poles. The park generated some heat before the shutdown as Disco Night kicked off the "Music Under the Stars" series. It was all enough to make you want a cold drink, and a bagel store robber did just that. Thanks again to our staff who always keeps cool when the heat is on.
