A doctor who sold drugs near Massapequa High School will spend time behind bars, thanks in part to area anti-drug advocates, who publicized the case. But, several felt he received a light sentence after his guilty plea this week. While that sad story topped the news, there was plenty to cheer for too. A North Massapequa director played a significant role at the Long Island International Film Expo and the 12-year-olds of the Massapequa Coast Little League won the district championship. Massapequa also took time to remember a giant of our national pastime, Gerorge Steinbrenner, who died on Tuesday. Thanks to our staff for all they did to bring you these stories.
