This week brought a little bit of everything. The serial robber who had been hitting banks on Sunrise Highway struck again, but this time it was one too many. Hours later police arrested Michael Acciarito, 39, for the crime. Tobay beach was in the news as thousands enjoyed a Billy Joel tribute band who played a "Music Under the Stars." concert. Police were at the beach as part of the community outreach effort, "National Night Out." A few days later the news was grim at Tobay as state park police recovered a body there. A Massapequa woman's life was on display for all to see as she joined the cast of Oxygen's "Bad Girl's Club," while Massapequa Coast's 11-year-olds displayed their slugging ability on the way to winning the Long Island championship. Thanks again to our dedicated staff for bringing you all these stories.
