Week in Review

August 29 to September 5.

It turns out we weren't blown out to see by Hurricane Earl after all. Much of the past was spent worrying about a storm that didn't produce the heavy rain and high winds that might have come if the storm had moved closer to the coast, but it gave residents an education about how to prepare if a major storm does come. While it wasn't a disastrous week for most residents, it might have been for State Senate candidate Dave Mejias. The Democrat was arrested on stalking charges following an incident involving his ex-girlfriend  Wednesday. You can tell it's election season as Republican Gubernatorial candidate Rick Lazio was in Massapequa  this week outlining his plans should he win his race. Thanks to our staff who helped bring these stories to you and enjoy your holiday weekend.
