Week in Review: April 22 to April 28

A look at the top stories in Massapequa this week.

This week was noteworthy for a spectacular chase that ended in Massapequa, a lot of talk about money and budgets, and a money issue between ex-roommates that left one under arrest.

Here's a look back:

Just before 4 a.m. Wednesday a police chase that started in Wantagh ended on a front lawn in Massapequa. Three men, who police said were trying to steal tires and rims ran from the vehicle and an officer fired a shot at one suspect. That suspect gave up and another was apprehended a short time later.  The third suspect was grabbed with the assistance of a police dog.

All the excitement started when the get away car ended up on the front lawn of Susan Martin. Martin told Patch what it was like to have a front row seat for all the excitement.

The other major police story of the week involved the arrest of a North Massapequa woman who was accused of using her former roommate's name and social security number to set up bogus joint credit card accounts. She allegedly made $6,000 in charges.
